High quality, diversified, multi-asset portfolios and risk-managed funds.

We believe every client should have access to the full range of investment tools and experience we can offer. At the heart of Cornelian’s approach is a belief that investors’ money should be managed as we would wish to have our own savings managed. We aim to add real value by producing returns in excess of inflation, RPI+, within predefined risk parameters. Our unconstrained approach allows the investment team to manage funds and portfolios within an upper expected risk limit, but with no lower limit, giving them freedom to de-risk when they believe it is prudent to do so.

Working with Financial Advisers.

Cornelian are focused on providing you with the best possible services and support to deliver your clients’ investment proposition.

Key features of our investment approach.

Our highly qualified managers are dedicated to protecting and growing your clients’ wealth over time.

Accessing our investment expertise.

Depending on your business requirements we offer a variety of ways for you to access our investment expertise.

Cornelian is an independent investment management company. We have built strong relationships with clients and professional connections through trust, openness and clear communication.

Our business has grown from personal and professional referrals; we now have clients ranging from individuals and their families to large pension funds and charities. Our network of Business Development Managers support financial advisers across the country who use our risk-managed funds and other services to deliver their investment proposition.

We offer a full range of discretionary investment services for Charities and Private Clients, including trusts and pensions. Our ‘broadly-based’ diversified investment portfolios are created using our tried and tested investment process. You can choose from three types of investment service for your clients, all offering the same quality of underlying investments:

› Cornelian multi-asset fund range. Our multi-asset funds offer a risk managed solution whether in our core multi-asset fund range or our newer Risk Managed Passive (RMP) range.
› Cornelian portfolio service. An alternative to platform investment, our Cornelian Portfolio Service (CPS) uses Cornelian risk managed funds in a discretionary portfolio and offers a CGT Allowance Management service.
› Discretionary investment management service. This service may be appropriate for clients who wish to select an individually designed portfolio aligned to their specific needs.

Whichever service you choose, we will not compromise on the quality of investment research and process, or the support that we offer you.

Commitment to quality. No matter which solution.

Depending on your business requirements we offer a variety of ways for you to access our investment expertise. Whether your clients’ needs can be met through our multi-asset fund range, our Cornelian Portfolio Service or through our Discretionary Investment Management Service, we do not compromise on the quality of our investment process, or the level of service we offer you. Our Risk Managed funds are aligned to investors’ tolerance for risk and investment objectives, providing them with cost effective access to our institutional quality investment team. We are proud to have achieved some of the highest ratings from external parties including, FE Crowns, Distribution Technology ACE ratings and Defaqto Engage. The muti-asset range consists of six funds, each with a different investment objective and upper expected risk level, available on all the major platforms. We have removed all artificial barriers that might restrict investment performance (such as strategic asset allocation framework) to ensure our funds are ‘unconstrained’. The Funds sit within the IA Unclassified sector, so our investment team invest in the asset classes they believe will add most value to investors. Find out more on our website ›

We have recently launched our Risk Managed Passive (RMP) fund range available via platforms. Find out more ›

The Cornelian Portfolio Service (CPS) is designed to be one of the most efficient and cost-effective ways for you to access our discretionary services for your clients. Under this arrangement you act as Permitted Adviser for your client and instruct us on their behalf. We create a discretionary portfolio using one of our Cornelian funds, each of which is invested in a broad range of assets, has its own investment objective and upper expected risk limit. MPS offers your client a similar spread of investments, as well as the same level of research and investment management one would expect from a bespoke discretionary portfolio and includes full MiFID II complaint reporting. Should your client opt for our Capital Gains Tax Management Service, we review and adjust the holding within the portfolio with the objective of using as much of their annual CGT Allowance as is reasonably practicable.

If you open a Discretionary Investment Management Portfolio with us on behalf of your client, we create an individual portfolio tailored to their appetite for risk and investment objectives, whether their primary objective is total return or if they are looking for income. When our discretionary managers build your client’s portfolio, they apply the output from our experienced investment team in a disciplined manner to make sure your client benefits from the successful investment philosophy and process developed by the team. Our aim is to add real value to your client’s investment over the long term with the target level over inflation dictated by the level of risk they are prepared to take in their portfolio. To help your client monitor performance, we also compare returns against relevant index-based benchmarks.
